Auto Damage Appraiser

Overview

Invisible Touch Inc. is a full-service auto body shop in Bedford, MA, in business since 2005. We’re looking for an Auto Damage Appraiser to handle the front end of every repair: inspecting the vehicle, writing the estimate, and managing the insurance claim so both the customer and the shop floor know exactly what’s been approved before work begins.

You’ll be the first person to assess a vehicle after an accident, the one writing the number the customer and their insurer both see, and the point of contact when hidden damage turns up mid-repair and a supplement needs to go out. Accuracy and clear communication matter more here than anywhere else in the shop.

Responsibilities

• Perform full-vehicle damage assessments, including damage that isn’t visible from the outside
• Write itemized, insurance-ready repair estimates covering parts, labor and materials
• Coordinate directly with insurance adjusters on claim approval and supplemental damage
• Communicate scope, timeline and cost clearly to customers before work begins
• Document damage with photographs and written notes at intake and at each repair stage
• Work closely with technicians to confirm completed work matches the approved estimate
• Keep customers informed of timeline changes as parts and approvals come in

Qualifications

• Experience writing collision estimates using an industry estimating platform (CCC One, Mitchell, or similar)
• Working knowledge of collision repair procedures and current parts and labor pricing
• Strong written and verbal communication skills for customer- and adjuster-facing conversations
• Massachusetts auto damage appraiser license where required, or willingness to obtain one
• Valid driver’s license
